Entertainer Of The Week - Spoken Reasons

Okay first off, yes I changed the title from Artist of the Week to Entertainer of the Week, this is not permanent. It just seemed more fitting this way. Second, I just want to say a quick thank you to everyone who takes the time to read my blog. I appreciate the love and support you all show.

Faith, Consistency & Hard Work

Those words may not mean much to some, but for myself and others they are words to live by. Spoken Reasons aka J.B put out a video introducing his YouTube viewers to this movement back in 2011. By this time I had been watching him on YouTube for around year and seeing this video brought everything full circle for me. You can't succeed with out all three and just because you practice all three of these things doesn't mean instant success.
Faith, Consistency & Hard Work - Spoken Reasons

J.B can go from doing comedy to being serious and he makes sure to talk about relevant and relatable topics. Nothing is off limits for him and the one thing that drew me in was his honesty. Whether he is being funny or serious, he is always honest, even if it's something you may not want to hear.
He started posting videos on YouTube back in January of 2009 under the name Spoken Reasons. He currently has 179 videos, along with those videos he has 1,235,190 subscribers and 203,084,699 video views and those numbers continue to go up. He also has a second YouTube channel Spoken Reasons TV where he does behind the scenes, bloopers and random other videos. Along with YouTube he has two comedy mixtapes (look for links below) with an album "The Game Changer" on the way and is signed with Steve Rifkind. He also landed a role in a movie coming out June 28th called "The Heat" where he stars along side Sandra Bullock and Mellissa McCarthy.
I'm so proud to see how far he's come. He went from a boy posting YouTube videos to a young man with a following about to be in his first movie and inspiring others to go after their dreams. Faith, Consistency and Hard Work went from a statement to a movement that is taking over. I know this is just the beginning for J.B and we will be hearing more about him and FCHW in the future.

Artist Of The Week - Sarah Golden

The ideas that pop up in my head are very distracting to me at times and I resort to blaring music in my house to get me focused. I only do this when it's empty, if people are home I put my ear buds in! I was having a hard time deciding who I wanted to write about this week and started scrolling through YouTube listening to music with the volume all the way up. After a few minutes I came across Sarah Golden who has just posted a new video of her and two others (Edmund Evans aka Tricia Fox & Aaron Kaufman) covering "Rules" by Jayme Dee. I sat back and let it play, missed two calls (because I couldn't hear my phone..Sorry mom!) and in the process was reminded why I'm such a fan of Sarah Golden. I love being able to get lost in a singers voice and Sarah has this natural, soulful sound to hers. As a folk singer she brings her own style to the table and she isn't afraid to experiment with her sound.

So, by now you can tell that Sarah Golden is this weeks Artist Of The Week. For those of you that don't know her, she is a folk singer/song writer from Houston, Texas. She was on Season 2 of NBC's The Voice landing a spot on team Cee Lo where she made it to the battle rounds.

Since leaving The Voice Sarah has continued to release music and perform live shows. I love seeing how far she has come since and can't wait to see where she goes in the future. She has made a folk music fan out of me. Here are some videos from her YouTube for you guys to enjoy.

Artist Of The Week - Daniel Jerome

I thought I would change things up this week and talk about a dancer that I really have enjoyed watching grow over the last two to three years. I love music and what is music with out dancers. Daniel Jerome is one of my favorite dancers out right now. The first video of his that I seen was the freestyle he did to "You're My".

Daniel Jerome - You're My

He continued to release more freestyles and choreography videos on YouTube since the "You're My" freestyle improving and growing as a dancer as well as a choreographer. Some of my favorite videos he has posted shows his diversity as a dancer along with his personality. I love seeing the artist shine through their work and he does just that. A video Daniel did in July 2012 with Cierra Lauren shows off his skills and diversity well.

Aside from working with Cierra, Daniel has worked with Isiah Munoz, The Bosses (Formerly known as The Baby Bosses), Art of Movement (AOM), Chapter1NE (CH1) and is an instructor at SoReal Performing Arts Center.
